Safe Skiing

All snow fields have hazards. Over time, rules have developed to help manage these risks. When visiting please make sure that you observe basic snow courtesy.

  • Don’t block trails and ski on the left

  • Observe directional ski trail signs

  • Give way to skiers coming downhill

  • Use set tracks for striding and skate lane for skating, overtaking and descents

  • Ski in control and a safe distance behind the skier ahead

  • Let yourself fall to avoid collisions. After a fall clear the trail as soon as possible

  • Keep poles close in

  • Stand on the side of trails

  • Don’t block the run-out at the bottom of hills

  • Don’t walk on ski trails, but if you have to walk keep to the sides
