Remember when XC-skiing:
The snow is a cold environment, but the exertion of physical activity keeps your body temperature high – until you stop! Padded parkas generally become too hot and uncomfortable if xc-skiing. It’s best to have a water and weatherproof shell, and clothing that still keeps you warm when damp, whether from sweating, the weather or falling over in the snow. Many light layers and a shell are better than one heavy thick layer. You can then remove layers when you’re hot, and put them back on when you’re cold. A good day pack is ideal to carry food and drink, as well as unwanted clothing.
